According to the most recent data available from the U.S. Census Bureau, East Pittsburgh’s total population in 2016 was 1,844.

An estimated 55.3 percent of residents were black or African American and 38.9 percent were white. Roughly 2.5 percent were Asian, 2.2 percent were Hispanic or Latino, less than 1 percent were of two or more races and less than .5 percent were of another race. About 54.1 percent of residents were females and 45.9 percent were males.

There were 1,055 housing units in the Borough.

The median resident age was just under 32 years old, and the breakdown of age groups is as follows.
